WITH THIS PROJECT YOUR CHILD WILL LEARN…

  • What a ghost is
  • The colors white, gray, and black
  • How to use scissors

BOO! THIS GHOST FAMILY IS THE PERFECT HALLOWEEN CRAFT. HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE IT:

  • White and gray yarn
  • Black felt
  • Piece of cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue or fabric glue

To start, wrap your yarn around your piece of cardboard. You want to keep wrapping it around until it is about as thick as shown below. You may need to wrap it more or less depending on how thick your yarn is.

Wrap white yarn around a piece of cardboard

Cut the end of the thread connected to the yarn ball. Then your are going to slide the yarn off the cardboard carefully. After that tie a piece of yarn around the top of the yarn loops.

White yarn folded

Next thread another piece of yarn through the top part of the loop and tie it at the top.

White yarn folded and made to look like a snowman.

You are then going to cut the bottom loop so that all the ends are loose.

White yarn has been folded in half and tied at the top

Separate about ten strands on each side and tie off the ends. Then tie off the bottom of your ghost.

Out of felt cut a face out for your ghost friend. You can make a happy ghost face or a silly face. Wherever your imagination leads you! You are then going to either hot glue or fabric glue your face to the head of your ghost.

Cut out from black felt a face.

Trim all the loose yarn threads and even out the ends.

Repeat these steps for as many ghosts as you would like to add to your ghost family.

You are now done and have spooktacular ghost family!
