SPEND TIME WITH YOUR GRANDKIDS THIS VALENTINE’S DAY MAKING THIS BEADED HANGING HEART! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE IT:

  • 2 pipe cleaners
  • red and white beads
  • ribbon
  • basic arts and crafts supplies

Valentine Hanging Beaded Heart – Step 1

First form a heart shape with the pipe cleaners, closing the bottom by twisting two ends together. Leave the top of the heart open so you can string on your beads.

Start stringing on the beads. Alternate between red, pink, and white in a pattern you like. Be sure to leave enough of the pipe cleaners exposed at the top of the heart to twist it together to close it, about one inch on both sides.

Attach the ribbon to hang it by partially opening the bottom ends of the pipe cleaners and twist one end of the ribbon in as you close it again.

Now run the ribbon up the center of the heart. Criss-cross the ends of the pipe cleaners, laying the ribbon in between and forming a loop with the ribbon, as shown. Twist the pipe cleaners closed around the ribbon. Now your hanging heart is ready to display.
