mummy craft made out of toilet paper rolls with spiders around mummy's

Decorate any table top this Halloween with this spooky Mummy and Me craft made out of a toilet paper roll. As a parent or grandparent it can be hard to find easy, affordable things to do with your little ones. This mummy craft is the perfect way to spend time with your children or grandchildren while celebrating the Halloween spirit. When I made this craft with my grandchildren we put on some fun Halloween music and had a dance party while we put together our mummies. We always begin our craft time with reading a book that is related to the project we are about to make. This helps the kids understand more about what we are making. For this project we read the charming Halloween book for young children called, Skeleton Meets the Mummy.

WITH THIS PROJECT YOUR CHILD WILL LEARN

  • What a mummy is
  • How to paint
  • What the colors black and white are
  • Placement of eyes

THE BOOK WE READ BEFORE MAKING THIS PROJECT

MAKING THE MUMMY & ME TOILET PAPER ROLL CRAFT IS SUPER EASY & FUN. HERE ARE THE SUPPLIES WE USED.

  • 2 empty toilet paper rolls
  • Black craft paint
  • White fabric or cheese cloth (this works best and looks best)
  • Googly eyes
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Paint brush

The first thing you are going to do is cut one of the toilet paper rolls in half.

Next you are going to paint both of the toilet paper rolls black and let them dry.

Then you are going to glue on googly eyes at the top of your toilet paper rolls.

Toilet paper roll that has been cut in half, painted black, googly eyes have been added, and it has started to be wrapped in bandage.

Now you are going to cut strips of white fabric and wrap them around the toilet paper rolls, securing with glue as you go. Cheese cloth or muslin fabric works best.

Make sure to leave the eyes peaking out from between strips of fabric.

Toilet paper roll is painted black and is having bandage glued onto it.

You now have a Mummy and Me to decorate your house this Halloween! Feel free to make a mummy for each person in your family.

I hope you and your family enjoyed making this adorable mummy craft!
