TURN VINTAGE VALENTINE CARDS INTO SWEET LITTLE ORNAMENTS! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE THEM:
- vintage Valentine’s Day cards
- red pipe cleaners
- cream color felt
- ribbon or yarn for hanging
- glitter
- basic crafting supplies

Start by gathering some vintage Valentine cards. If you don’t have any old Valentines then do a search on the internet for some and print them on card stock. Some I had, and some I searched for Valentine’s day card during the late 60s and early 70s since that is the time I was giving them out in grade school. It was neat to recognize some of them from so long ago!

Next cut around the printed card piece.

Be creative in decorating your vintage card. On my Valentine card there was a blue bow, so I took glitter paint and glitter and painted and glittered the blue bow area.

Then I took a red sparkly pipe cleaner and bended it and glued it to fit around the heart on the Valentine card.

Now cut out a base for the back of the card from cream felt. This will keep the card stronger and steady, and it will help preserve the card to last longer. Sandwich a ribbon or yarn hanger in between the felt and the Valentine card. Glue the felt in place.

I hope you enjoyed making these ornaments with your little one. You are now finished and have some pretty vintage Valentine’s to decorate your home with for Valentine’s day!

I put my ornaments on a gold Valentine’s day tree along with some glitter red hearts.
