Turn old Valentine cards into a decorative pretty heart-shaped candy box for little treats. This is the perfect way to spend time with your grandkids turning cards that were gifted to you forever ago into a memorable candy box.

PUT YOUR SWEET TREATS IN THIS ADORABLE CARD BOX! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE IT:

  • vintage Valentine’s Day cards
  • cardboard heart shaped box
  • red pipe cleaner
  • craft paint
  • glitter
  • basic crafting supplies

Start by gathering some vintage Valentines. If you don’t have any old Valentines than do a search on the internet for some and print them on card stock. Some I had, and some I searched for Valentine’s day card during the late 60s and early 70s since that is the time I was giving them out in grade school. It was neat to recognize some of them from so long ago!

You are going to want to try and find a card that is close the size of the lid of the heart box. Trace around the lid of the box onto the Valentine card. Cut out the heart shape.

Next paint and glitter the sides and the lid of the cardboard box.

Now glue the heart shape Valentine on top of the lid.

Finally glue a red pipe cleaner on the lid around the outside of the heart shape.

Your candy card box is now finished and ready to add some little treats in the pretty Valentine card box and give it to someone special!
