Chocolate covered pretzels and candy eggs put together to make a birds nest candy

These delicious birds nest candy are a sweet treat to welcome Easter and Spring time. They can be made in many different ways, but this version with pretzels and caramel pieces tends to be a favorite at our parties! My grandkids love helping me create this yummy treat to share with everyone!

MY GRANDKIDS LOVE HOW SILLY IT IS TO OFFER PEOPLE A BIRD’S NEST CANDY AT EASTER PARTIES AND I BET YOURS WILL TOO! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE IT:

  • about 1 cup of caramel bits
  • about 2 cups of stick pretzels
  • about 1 Ib of your favorite milk chocolate wafers to melt (we used Merckens)
  • egg candy to put on top of nest (we used Reese’s peanut butter pastel eggs)

Bird’s Nest Candy – Step 1

First melt the milk chocolate wafers to the correct consistency. You don’t want the chocolate too hot when you are ready to add the rest of the ingredients. Add pretzels and caramel pieces. Gently stir. If the mixture is too runny, add more pretzel sticks.

Then form shapes into nests in the size desired. Put shapes onto a cookie sheet covered in wax paper.

Bird’s Nest Candy – Step 3

Immediately, while the chocolate is still in liquid form add 3 little eggs to the nest. Push them down gently. This will help them stick to the chocolate and stay on the nest.

Place the bird’s nest candies on a pretty dish with Easter grass, and enjoy with your loved ones!
