paper plate painted to look like a bunny

This is a very easy, fun craft to do with kids. Simple to make, and once it’s done it rocks! This bunny made from a paper plate is perfect for Easter.

WE LOVED CREATING THIS SIMPLISTIC BUNNY FOR EASTER! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE IT:

  • paper plate
  • pink pipe cleaner
  • 1 small pink pompom
  • 1 large cotton ball
  • 2 googly eyes
  • black or brown construction paper
  • brown paint (child-safe, non toxic)
  • basic arts & crafts supplies

Rocking Rabbit – Step 1

First paint the back of the paper plate brown. Once the paint is dry, fold the paper plate in half (brown side facing out).

Rocking Rabbit – Step 2

Cut the pipe cleaner into 3 pieces. Bend each piece in half. Tape the folded center of the pipe cleaners inside the fold of the plate. Bend the ends of the pipe cleaners around the plate, so that they form whiskers. Glue on the small pink pompom at the end with the pipe cleaners, for the nose.

Rocking Rabbit – Step 3

Cut out two long ears from the construction paper. Glue them onto the top edge of the plate, on both sides, so that they stick up above the fold.

Rocking Rabbit – Step 4

Finally glue a googly eye on each side of the plate near the ears, and last glue on a cotton ball tail at the other end of the plate.

You are now finished your rocking bunny!
