Recycle mom’s old jewelry she doesn’t want any more and create her a new brooch she will be proud to wear this Mother’s Day. Show her that you are not only creative, but you are good to the environment by repurposing. It is such a great activity to do with kids because they get to be creative and make something custom for mom. You can use any old jewelry, buttons, or knick knacks that you have lying around the house!

MY GRANDKIDS LOVED USING THEIR MOM’S OLD JEWERY TO MAKE A BROOCH FOR HER FOR MOTHER’S DAY AND YOURS WILL TOO! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE IT:
- unwanted costume jewelry
- brooch pin
- cardboard
- felt
- ribbon, buttons, and lace for embellishments
- basic arts & crafts supplies
Repurposed Jewelry Brooch – Step 1

You are going to start by gluing a piece of felt onto a piece of cardboard and letting it dry. Then glue the cardboard onto the back of a brooch base and let dry. This will be the base of the lapel pin to glue the jewelry and embellishments on to.
Repurposed Jewelry Brooch – Step 2

Next you want to collect all the jewelry from friends and family members that are no longer wanted or broken. You will be surprised how many beautiful antique pieces you can find hidden in your unwanted jewelry!
Repurposed Jewelry Brooch – Step 3

Finally arrange jewelry and embellishment in the desired pattern form you would like the brooch to look like. Carefully glue everything in place.

Mom will be happy and proud to wear her new recycled jewelry brooch!
