YOUR GRANDKIDS WILL LOVE MAKING THIS PAPER PLATE BASKET OF FLOWERS FOR THEIR MOM FOR MOTHER’S DAY! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE IT:

  • 2 paper plates
  • construction paper in different colors for flowers
  • green construction paper
  • glue and glitter or glitter glue
  • ribbon
  • plastic jewels
  • basic arts & crafts supplies

Paper Plate Basket of Flowers – Step 1

First cut one paper plate in half. Glue the half onto the other plate, with the plates facing each other to form a pocket (or basket), as shown.

Paper Plate Basket of Flowers – Step 2

Draw and cut out flowers from different colored construction paper. Cut stems for the flowers from green paper. Once you have all your pieces made glue the flowers onto the stems.

Next glue the flowers into the paper plate basket. You can decorate the flowers with glitter glue, or leave them plain.

Then poke a small hole in the top edge of the paper plate (the whole plate in the back) tie a piece of ribbon onto the plate. Decorate the bottom edge of the half paper plate with glitter glue. Let dry.

Finally using a marker, write a special Mother’s Day message on the front. Now you can hang it up!

I hope anyone who is gifted this adorable craft made by your grandkids loves it for Mother’s Day!
