These glittering handprint flowers will make a great center piece for your table, or on a tray for Mom on Mother’s Day with her breakfast in bed! These flowers are made out of your little ones handprint so they will serve as a great keepsake. This bouquet is also a great gift that your child or grandchild can make for someone for Mother’s Day.

MAKE A BEAUTIFUL MOTHER’S DAY BOUQUET WITH YOUR GRANDKIDS! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE IT:

  • empty egg carton (2 cups)
  • pink, blue, and green construction paper
  • empty jar (mason jar, or jelly jar)
  • ribbon
  • green pipe cleaners
  • yellow paint (child-safe, non toxic)
  • glitter
  • 2 sticks
  • basic arts & crafts supplies

Handprint Bouquet – Step 1

Start by cutting out 2 cups from an egg carton and paint them yellow inside and out. Let them dry. Spread some glue in the bottom of each cup and sprinkle in some gold glitter.

Handprint Bouquet – Step 2

Then trace your child’s handprints, four times (each hand twice) on both the pink and the blue paper. Cut them out. Use a paintbrush to spread glue on the handprints. Sprinkle glitter onto the glue and let dry.

Handprint Bouquet – Step 3

Now draw and cut out 4 leaves from the green paper. Spread glue on them and sprinkle on green glitter. Let the leaves dry.

Handprint Bouquet – Step 4

Glue 4 handprints together with the fingers facing out to form a flower. Glue the egg cups into the center of the flowers. With a pencil roll the fingers on the paper flower inward to create a curl on the fingers, which is the ends of the flower.

Handprint Bouquet – Step 5

Now you are going to attach a green pipe cleaner with tape to the back of each flower. Tape the leaves together to make a set of 2 leaves each for both flowers. Attach a set to each pipe cleaner stem using tape.

Handprint Bouquet – Step 6

Coil the pipe cleaner stems around the sticks. This will make them sturdy enough to stand in the jar. Place the flowers in the jar.

Finally tie a pretty ribbon around the jar and you are done! You now have a beautiful gift for Mother’s Day that you made with your little ones.
