How To Make a Coastal Beach Painted Fish Wall Art From Popsicle Sticks

My grandkids love the beach and seeing all the different sea creatures and fish. They also love to go fishing as a family. I thought it would be so fun to make a beautiful fish decoration that looks great at any beach house! The best part it is made entirely out of POPSICLE STICKS! I have been wanting to get ride of the stack of popsicle sticks that I had lying around and this simple and fun fishy friend was the perfect craft to do just that!

MY GRANDKIDS AND I LOVED MAKING THIS FISH DECORATION FROM POPSICLE STICKS AND YOU WILL TOO! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE IT:

• popsicle sticks
• blue, teal, red, gray paint
• hot glue gun and glue
• basic arts and crafts supplies

Popsicle Stick Fish – Step 1

First you are going to paint 18 popsicle sticks gray.

Next you are going to use other popsicle sticks to hot glue your gray popsicle sticks together.

NOTE: I did this step for my grandkids since they are younger and I didn’t want them to burn themselves on the hot glue gun.

Here is an example of what your popsicle sticks should look like when they are finished being glued together.

Other Fun Beach and Ocean Crafts for Kids

Popsicle Stick Fish – Step 3

Now you are going to cut up your popsicles so that they vary in lengths and make a fish shape like the one shown above.

Then you are going to paint your fish. I used the colors blue, teal, and red so that they reminded me of the beach and the ocean. You can use whatever colors you would like for your fish though.

Finally glue the fish popsicle sticks onto the gray popsicle sticks like the picture above.

You now have an adorable fishy friend to display in your home this summer!
