Looking for something to keep the kids busy and away from a screen? Make this winter penguin out of popsicles with your little ones. You can make a whole family of penguins with this project. This popsicle stick penguin craft can be turned into a hanging ornament, refrigerator magnet, or just keep him as the handsome penguin craft he already is!

MAKING THIS PENGUIN CRAFT IS EASY AND FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE IT:

  • 3″-6″ popsicle sticks
  • 3″-4″ thin popsicle sticks
  • black, orange, and cream paint
  • glitter
  • googly eyes
  • basic craft supplies
Cut up popsicle stick to make parts of penguin

Start by cutting one of the 6″ popsicle sticks about 1.5″ off one end. Then cut that in half. This will be the penguin’s feet. Cut one end of the 2 smaller popsicle sticks. They are for the wings and are a little to long, so cut about 1″ off.

Next, cut 1″ off the bottom of one of the 6″ popsicle sticks. This will be the center cream penguin belly. After that paint one 6″ popsicle stick cream then sprinkle white glitter onto it. Paint two 6″ popsicle sticks black and sprinkle black glitter on them. Let dry. Glue the cream stick on top of the two black sticks together as shown.

Then you are going to glue on your penguins wings and feet in place.

Now you are going to add on your penguins facial features. Glue the eyes on. Cut a small piece of orange pipe cleaner for the beak and bend in half. Glue in place.

Your glittery penguin is now finished! You can glue a ribbon on the back to make him able to hang or you could add a strip of magnet and he will become a refrigerator magnet.
