Need a winter craft project to do with the kids? Turn old wooden clothespins into this cute penguin family craft. It is the perfect way to spend time with your kids inside while it is cold outside. Additionally, you can make a penguin for each member of your family.

THESE CLOTHESPIN PENGUINS ARE THE PERFECT WINTER CRAFT TO DO WITH YOUR GRANDKIDS! HERE IS WHAT WE USED TO MAKE IT:

  • wooden clothespins
  • 1″ wooden round circles
  • googly eyes
  • orange, black, and white pipe cleaner
  • black and orange craft paint
  • glitter (optional)
  • basic craft supplies

Start by cutting the bottom of the clothes pin so that it is flat and will stand. Cut the head of the clothes pin off. Then paint the clothespins black. Add glitter if you want to.

Next you are going to paint the 1″ wooden rounds orange and add glitter if you want to. After that cut a tiny piece of orange pipe cleaner for each beak. Cut 2 pieces of black pipe cleaner for each penguin. These will be for their wings. Then cut 1 piece of white pipe cleaner and bend in half. This is for the penguins belly.

Now glue the penguin body onto the orange base. Next glue the folded white pipe cleaner belly onto the body.

Last glue on the beak, eyes, and wings of the penguin.
